Taff has broken ground at the site of the former bingo hall, Riva Bingo, in Splott which was gutted by fire in 2015.

The Site has remained vacant since and will now be home to a new development consisting of 39 properties comprised by a mix of apartments and homes.

At the ceremony was local councillor Owen Jones, and Cabinet Member of Homes and Communities Lynda Thorne who said that ‘the site will provide much needed social housing and support local jobs.  It is welcomed to see this site be developed and will help Cardiff to meet its targets outlined in the housing strategy.’  She also commented that it was nice to finally meet in person as we approach two years since the first lockdown in response to the global pandemic.

It is hoped that the site will be able to welcome residents in 2024.
